Lunch Menus

Children can choose to bring a packed lunch or have a school dinner at lunchtime. Children are given a choice of three options for their school meal, a hot meal of the day, sandwich of the day or a jacket potato with a choice of fillings. These are chosen in a morning at registration and are freshly prepared and cooked on site.

If your child is staying for a school meal please ensure payment is made through our online system, ParentPay (accounts will be set up when you join the school). We also use this sytem for all other payments such as school trips and clubs as we aim to be a cashless schoo.

All children in Reception, Years One and Two are entitled to a free school meal under the Governments Universal Free School Meal Scheme. The price of a school meal for children in Years Three to Six is £2.30.

If you think you may be entitled to free school meals then please the information below.

Packed Lunches

If your child wants to bring a packed lunch then we encourage a healthy choice. We ask that no fizzy drinks, sweets or nuts are brought into school. This is essential as we have adults and children in school with nut allergies.

Children are supervised by a team of Mid-day Supervising Assistants who provide a caring, sociable and enjoyable lunch time for all children.

Children can bring water bottles, labelled with their name and with a sports cap for lunchtime and during the school day.

Spring 2019-20

Free School Meals

Free school meals are available to children whose parents are in receipt of one or more of the following benefits:

  • income support
  • income-based job seeker's allowance
  • income-related employment and support allowance
  • child tax credit with an income of less than £16,190 and not in receipt of working tax credit
  • support under part VI of the immigration and asylum act 1999
  • guarantee element of state pension credit.

Where parents are entitled to working tax credit during a four week "run on" period immediately after their employment has ceased, or after they have started to work less than 16 hours per week, their children are entitled to free school meals.Children who receive income support or income based jobseeker's allowance in their own right are also entitled to free school meals.

Should you meet the above criteria, you can apply by using the application form in the useful downloads section. Applications are usually processed the same day. If your child is entitled to free school meals you will receive a letter confirming the date when the meals will start. The school is also notified that your child is entitled to free school meals. In the meantime, you should continue to pay for free school meals until confirmation comes through. Schools may be able to arrange a reimbursement of any monies paid whilst your entitlement is being confirmed. If you are not entitled to free school meals you will be notified in writing.
