Pupil leadership is an important part of school life as it helps children develop confidence, responsibility, and teamwork while also promoting the Fundamental British Values. Through roles such as the Junior Leadership Team, Shine Leaders, Digital Leaders, and the Eco-Council, pupils have the chance to practise democracy by representing their peers and sharing ideas that shape school life. They learn about the rule of law by following agreed responsibilities and acting as positive role models. Leadership gives them the freedom to make choices and take initiative, supporting their individual liberty, while working alongside others helps them to build mutual respect and tolerance. These opportunities not only prepare pupils to become responsible citizens but also allow them to make a real difference in their school community and beyond.
